Have a question?

Henna is NOT black! ‘Black henna’ may have dangerous dyes or chemicals added that could cause permanent scarring or internal damage.
IS IT PAINFUL TO USE IT?
The entire process of applying and using henna is not painful at all and is a great way to unleash your creative side!

Henna is a small shrub called Lawsonia inermis, and is found in Iran, India, Pakistan, Egypt and North Africa. The young leaves and twigs are ground into fine powder, then mixed with water and applied on the hands, feet and hair to give them a reddish-orange colour. The henna mud mixture can be applied in beautiful patterns via a small plastic bag with a small hole pricked into one corner. This bag acts as a mini pastry-decorating tube.

Henna is a temporary stain and only lasts for 1-2 weeks. The depth of the colour depends on the length of time you leave it on your skin. The longer you leave it, the richer and deeper the colour! Henna Body Art frees you from the world of permanent tattoos, which are a lifetime commitment. Many times, the decision to get a permanent tattoo is regretted later in life and may be forced into a surgical procedure to have it removed. By using the safe and fun alternative of Henna, you can have a tattoo anytime you want it, and in a few weeks it will be gone!

Henna is for everyone! It is a great project to do with your friends and a fun project for Mom’s to do with their kids!! I have added some fun ideas for doing kids henna art, as well as many other great ideas for adults.
